Ethiopia

Ethiopia is a highland fortress — rugged plateaus that defeated colonizers — but it is landlocked and poor in navigable rivers. The Blue Nile rises here, carrying most of the water Egypt lives on, and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam converts that accident of altitude into electricity and leverage. Upstream geography is Ethiopia's one great card.
