Northern European Plain

The Northern European Plain is the most consequential flatland on Earth: an uninterrupted lowland corridor from France to the Urals. It made northern Europe rich (deep soil, navigable rivers) and bloody (no defensible line) — the road Napoleon and Hitler took east, and the space Russia has always tried to buffer with distance, satellites, or fear.
