Zambezi

The Zambezi is southern Africa's great river, and its geography is written in one feature: Victoria Falls, where the river plunges off a plateau edge. Magnificent and un-navigable to the sea, it is dammed for power (Kariba, Cahora Bassa) rather than used for trade — Africa's escarpment problem in miniature.
